My daughter Kaishall Joshlynn Alfred was born on March 6 1994, she was diagnosed with lupus at age eleven in 2005….she was called home on December 12 2018. Kay is my Angel, my first born, best friend, my partner, my rider, my support system, my everything.

Kaishall created an organization called DoItForKay and Lupus Warriors……she was an advocate and educator to everyone on IG , Facebook and in person; she had this light about her that touched you and made you feel at peace. I remember one time I asked her “Kaishall why do you call everyone your friend … not all people are your friends? She said “EVERYONE HAS SOMETHING GOOD IN THEM MOM.” That is the type of person Kay was; loving caring loyal angelic.

Kay kidneys failed for the second time at age twenty one. Kaishall decided to chose Peritoneal Dialysis which is done at home. Kay went through training by the nursing staff at the dialysis center to medicate herself and live a somewhat normal life (while attending college) this is why Kay chose this type of dialysis…

What is Lupus?

An inflammatory disease caused when the immune system attacks its own tissue. lupus affects: joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.

In my daughter case Lupus attacked her whole body on December 12 2018, causing her body to go into shock.
